The Jacarandas of Buenos Aires photo show lives on, both in video format and with a new exhibition at Feliza, inauguration Dec 22 (7-11 pm) at Av. Córdoba 3271, Buenos Aires.
The last week of the Jacaranda photo exhibition at the Botanical Gardens, I had the honor to be interviewed by the radio of the National Congressional Library of Argentina and talk about my love of the trees of Buenos Aires.
Shooting this lovely family in San Telmo for their holiday cards was such a pleasure we went for round two a couple of days later!
Maternity photo shoots are about capturing the love, the “glow”, and the beauty of this incredible moment in life and honoring and conveying the incredible bond that mothers carrying their unborn children have during those nine precious months.
The show had quite a successful opening on Saturday November 4th; the day was bright and cheerful, the crowd was interested and interesting and the photos all looked great hung up on the walls. Clarin included the show in a recent article about Jacarandas.
Photographer Beatrice L. Murch’s second solo exhibition opens at the Jardín Botánico in November. ‘Jacarandás de Buenos Aires’ will run from November 4 until November 26, with an opening reception on Saturday, November 4 at 12pm.
I launched an IndieGoGo campaign to raise funds to pay for the photo exhibition at the Járdin Botánico of Buenos Aires and to be a way for my extended family, friends, and maybe even some fans of my work to participate in this exhibition from both near and afar with both financial and emotional support. I am humbled by the overwhelming support thus far. Thank you!!
Taking headshots and transmitting the beauty I see in front of the camera is only part of the work; working together to capture the desired look and feel, and transmit emotions is what it’s all about. Helen, Sally, and I all worked together to create a feeling, convey an image and connect Helen to her audience via these portraits.
Beatrice Murch is one of the fourteen artists participating in the Stevenson Alumni Artists Showcase June 9-11 in Pebble Beach. One of her photos from her upcoming show in Buenos Aires will be among the artwork available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds going to the Stevenson Fund.
That ever-elusive life-work balance is a learning game with a new family, but photography will never lose its importance, and I’m happy to know that I can continue to shoot, even if my focus shifts from previous work.
